But first, let me tell you a short story.
Have you ever had this experience?
Getting up from your chair after sitting in front of the computer for 8 hours because you have finally finished writing your homework / project / work.
You just wanted to get up and stretch those tiresome muscles, so you stood up and open your arms to extend as much as possible hoping that would do the trick.
The next thing you’d hear is a crying “oweeee….” sound coming out of your own mouth.
Yup, you guessed it right…You have pulled your back muscles and that you can’t seem to stretch it out at all.

Those who know me for a while now understand I am very big on educating my clients along with the pain-relief treatment.
But sometimes I can be just a little bit funny =)

Anyways, let’s be serious now!
Back Pain Relief in 3 Simple Steps
Relieve Back Pain (and Neck) by Putting Pressure on Luo-Zhen Xue (aka. Neck-Strain Point):
If you have watched the video, you will see that I pointed my finger towards the web part in between my index and middle finger right?
Luo Zhen Xue (Neck-Strain Point) – relieve back and neck pain
It’s located exactly on the back of your hand, in between the second and third metacarpal (the longest part of the finger) bones, about 0.5can (Cun = approximate measurement for Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture) or 5mm above the web.
What does this point do for you?
In short, it helps relieve sore neck, shoulders and arm pain.
In TCM theory, it’s useful to move Qi (or pronounced Ki) and blood in the neck region.
This is a great acupressure point to relieve general stiff neck, like you woke up and felt weird on your neck.
How do you massage this point?
It’s very easy, depends on which side of the neck or back pain you’re having, press on the same side of the hand, and gently move your head.
You should start feeling the neck being able to move more easily by now, don’t stop for at least 5 minutes.
Relieve Back, Shoulder, Elbow Pain by Pressing on SJ3 – Zhong Zhu:
By now, you are probably patient enough to see my second favourite point I like to use – SJ3 Zhong Zhu.
SJ3 – Zhong Zhu – neck and back pain relief point
Where do you find this point you say? If you look at the picture above, you can see that in comparison to the first point “Luo Zhen Xue”, which was located in between the Index Finger and the Middle Finger.
Instead, SJ3 – Zhong Zhu is located in between the Ring Finger (4th) and the Pinkie Finger (5th), metacarpal bones, about 0.5can or 5mm above the web.
What does this point do for you?
Relieve back, neck, shoulder and arm pain all the way down to your wrist and hand.
In TCM theory, it’s useful to move Qi and blood in the SJ channel (channel in TCM theories is canals that transport Qi and Blood).
This is a great acupressure point to relieve headache, elbow and arm pain and of course, back pain.
How do you massage this point?
It’s very easy, depends on which side of the neck or back pain you’re having, press on the same side of the hand, and gently move your shoulders by rotating backward and forward.
You should start feeling the shoulders and arm being able to move more easily by now, don’t stop for at least 5 minutes.
Relieve Back Pain by Pressing on Yao Tong Xue (aka. Lumbar Pain Point):
By now, you are probably patient enough to see my third favourite points I like to use – Yao Tong Xue.
Yao Tong Xue – Lower Back Pain Relief Point
Where do you find this point you say? If you look at the picture above, you can see that in comparison to the first point “Luo Zhen Xue” and the second point “SJ3 – Zhong Zhu”, which were located in between the Index Finger and the Middle Finger, and between the Ring Finger and the Pinky.
However, these two points are located near where the two sets of finger bones (total of 4 bones) joining together.
What does this point do for you?
Relieve both acute and general stiff lower back pain.
In TCM theory, it’s useful to move Qi and blood in the lower back
This is a great acupressure point to relieve back pain.
How do you massage this point?
It’s very easy, just gently move your lower back by rotating backward and forward.
You should start feeling your lower back being able to move more easily by now, don’t stop for at least 5 minutes.

By Now, You Probably have Many Questions:
It’s Magic isn’t it? Nope, it’s just the power of Acupuncture Points!
By now, you’re probably feeling like you’re getting all better, right?
So it’s okay for you to start working out now right? Please don’t!
Don’t forget this is just a temporary relief, in order to see the full benefit, keep doing this for at least a week.
You might ask, but it’s not working for me!
I know, you are probably pressing on it for over 10 minutes and still nothing.
Sometimes, you may have just missed a little bit.
Or, you felt too painful to keep going.
Not to worry, I got a solution for that as well!
Useful Tools To Relieve Back Pain:
I have been searching on tools where you could be using instead of your hands.
What tool you asked? I call it, the Electronic Pulse Massager. But I’ll talk about it in another blog post.
Simply though, you will just take the probe ends and place them on the points I have shown above.
Turn it on for 20 min and see how you feel!
Recommended Herbal Supplements:
One of my most recommended supplements that may help with back pain is Omega 3.
Since it’s not something we’re unfamiliar with by now, I’m not gonna go in-depth to explain what it does…
Instead, I want you to either try to eat more seafood, chia, flax, and hemp seeds.
Or use my link to buy the supplement and start taking it right now.
Conclusion
So Now’s Your Turn!
I’m always big on not just getting my clients to come for their treatments for their back pain, but my focus is always to get them to follow my instructions during their sessions.
Most of the time, I’ll demonstrate the effects of these useful Acupressure points on their body, hands, arms, feet or legs in between the treatment.
(Obviously, if I noticed the clients needed to rest, I’ll let them just enjoy the therapy)
Once they have left the treatment table, I’ll instruct them again on which points to use as their homework.
I’d love everyone to complete their homework until their next treatment date.
This will help us to reach the optimum result we both want, which is to relieve back pain.
So to recap, we have learned to use Luo Zhen Xue to relieve neck pain, SJ3 – Zhong Zhu to relieve arm and shoulder pain, and Yao Tong Xue to relieve lower back pain.
I’m sure you have lots of questions, so tell me, what points would you like to learn next?
